Amid the ongoing global attention for the farmers' protest, reports claimed that Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against climate change activist Greta Thunberg over her 'Toolkit' tweet on how to back the farmers' protests in India.

According to the reports, the Delhi Police FIR doesn't name any individuals. It refers to the toolkit shared by Greta Thunberg and is against the toolkit creators.

It was reported that Swedish Climate activist Greta Thunberg was booked by the Delhi Police for supporting the ongoing farmers' protest and tweeting in connection with the ongoing situation. 

Reports claimed that the Delhi Police lodged an FIR against Greta Thunberg over a 'toolkit' containing information on how to back the farmers' protests. The toolkit was tweeted out by Swedish climate change activist Greta Thunberg. 

The Truth

Clarifying the false reports, the Delhi Police  was quoted by ANI saying, "We haven't named anybody in the FIR, it's only against the creators of a toolkit which is a matter of investigation & Delhi Police will be investigating that case: Praveer Ranjan, Special Commissioner of Police (CP), Delhi Police when asked if Police has named #GretaThunberg in FIR."

"Sections in FIR are 124 A IPC-spreading disaffection against Govt of India, it's regarding sedition, 153 A-promoting hatred amongst various communities on social/cultural/religious grounds, same is 153 & 120 B for criminal conspiracy to give shape to such a plan: Praveer Ranjan."

Delhi Police's action against the teen climate activist comes a day after the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issued a statement asking celebrities to refrain from sensationalising the issue for the sake of popular hashtags.

What did Greta post about the Farmers Protest Toolkit?

Greta previously posted, "We stand in solidarity with the #FarmersProtest in India" and shared a news piece on the ongoing farmers' protest in India after Rihanna's tweet.

After which she posted, "Here's an updated toolkit by people on the ground in India if you want to help. (They removed their previous document as it was outdated.) #StandWithFarmers #FarmersProtest" sharing a document on the
