Delhi election final results: AAP wins 62 seats, BJP settles with 8

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has won another mandate in the Delhi Assembly Election 2020. Kejriwal is likely to take oath on February 14, the same date on which he took office in 2015. This is the third consecutive term for the Aam Aadmi Party. 

The early trends showed the AAP on course to return to power in Delhi with the Arvind Kejriwal-led party leading on 63 seats. The BJP on just 7 seats while the Congress was seen drawing a blank. 

In 2015, Arvind Kejriwal's AAP had registered a near clean sweep of the Delhi assembly, winning 67 out of 70 seats. Watch this space for live updates from the 2020 Delhi assembly election results.

Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari said, "I thank the people of Delhi. I thank BJP workers for their hard work in this election. I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal and accept the mandate given by the people of Delhi. I hope he will meet people's expectations. We could not meet our expectations and will analyse where we went wrong."

Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Arvind Kejriwal: "It's the biggest gift I've received (she celebrates her birthday today). This is the victory of truth. I think politics should be done on basis of issues. Political parties should learn that such comments shouldn't be made."

The Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal is likely to be sworn in on February 14, celebrated as Valentine's day around the world. 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, "I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal and the people of Delhi for AAP's victory in Delhi election. People have shown that the country will be run by 'Jan Ki Baat', not 'Mann Ki Baat'. BJP called Kejriwal a terrorist but couldn't defeat him."

After winning 63 of 70 seats in Delhi Assembly election 2020, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal addresses the victory rally. 

The Aam Aadmi Party candidate Raaj Kumar Anand won from Patel Nagar seat by over 30,000 votes against BJP's Pravesh Ratn.

BJP's Sat Prakash Rana is leading by a close margin of 102 votes in Bijwasan constituency against AAP's Bhupinder Singh Joon.

After winning Patparganj seat, AAP leader Manish Sisodia took out a roadshow to celebrate the victory of the party as the AAP wins 60 of 70 seats in Delhi Assembly Election.

After winning 60 of 70 seats, video of AAP workers celebrating the party's victory dancing to Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari's Bhojpuri song, has surfaced social media.

After winning the Patparganj seat, Aam Aadmi Party's Manish Sisodia said, "I am happy to become the MLA from Patparganj assembly constituency again. BJP tried to do politics of hate but people of Delhi chose a government that works for the people."

According to the latest data by the Election Commission, Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) 60-mark majority. Previously, in the 2015 Delhi assembly election, AAP won 67 seats and the BJP won three.

The Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kuldeep Kumar wins from Kondli constituency. BJP's Raj Kumar finished at second position.

Arvind Kejriwal is all set to address volunteers and media at ITO party Office at 3:30 pm.

Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was seen flashing the victory sign as after the margin of votes increased to 3,514. 

Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia who was trailing for hours has now gradually picked up after the 13th round in Patparganj constituency. He is now leading by 3129 votes. 

AAP's star contender Atishi Marlena wins the Kalkaji seat by 7,337 securing 50.92% votes from Kalkaji constituency.

The Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj wins from Greater Kailash constituency. Bharadwaj is currently serving as the MLA from the GK constituency in the Delhi State Assembly.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal dissolved the sixth assembly of the national capital as the counting is underway for a new Assembly formation.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is leading in the trends, being confident of forming the government for the third time. The tenure of the Assembly will be ending this month.

Raghav Chadha, AAP leader and treasurer, wins Rajinder Nagar constituency.

Deputy CM Manish Sisodia is trailing from Patparganj by 1,300 votes. BJP leader Parvesh Verma takes a dig at Delhi's Education Minister Sisodia and said, "If Delhi's election was on education model then Education Minister would not be trailing."

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Bandana Kumari bags the Shalimar Bagh seat BJP's Rekha Gupta on the second position.

BJP MP from East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir said, "We accept Delhi Election results and congratulate Arvind Kejriwal and the people of Delhi. We tried our best but, probably, we could not convince the people of the state. I hope Delhi develops under the chief ministership of Arvind Kejriwal.

The Aam Aadmi Party's candidate Amanatullah Khan secured 28,470 votes from Okhla constituency.

After multiple rounds of vote-counting, AAP's Jarnail Singh bags Tilak Nagar Seat. 

AAP candidate Prakash has secured a win from the Deoli constituency in South Delhi.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won the Seelampur constituency. Seelampur seat had recorded 71% voter-turnout on the polling day. 

Currently, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is leading by 6,413 votes against BJP's Sunil Yadav who has garnered 5,182 votes from the New Delhi constituency. 

BJP candidate Braham Singh is leading from the Okhla assembly constituency. Previously, Amanatullah Khan was leading by 214 votes. Shaheen Bagh area, which has been actively participating in anti-CAA protest, comes under the Okhla constituency.

Congress candidate Alka Lamba is trailing from Chandni Chowk behind AAP candidate Parlad Singh Sawhney. 

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Atishi Marlena from the Kalkaji assembly constituency is now leading.

Akhilesh Pati Tripathi AAP's candidate from Model Town,  who is leading over BJP's Kapil Mishra said, "I thank everyone who has expressed their confidence in Arvind Kejriwal. People want a govt that takes care of its citizens. People of Delhi have voted for development; I thank them."

Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is trailing from Patparganj constituency by a margin of 500 votes.

As per the official EC trends, the AAP is leading on 45 seats and BJP on 19.

After technical glitches and slow vote-counting process, the trends of all 70 assembly seats have arrived. 

BJP candidate Manish Singh is leading from the Delhi Cantt seat, the only one in the six seats of the Gol Market counting centre where the BJP has established a lead.

Amanatullah Khan is leading by 214 votes. Shaheen Bagh area, which has been actively participating in anti-CAA protest, comes under the Okhla constituency.

Compared to the results of 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, there has been a 7 per cent increase in votes of the BJP.  The percentage of votes polled in favour of the BJP this time was 42.07 per cent. 

According to official Election Commission's official numbers, so far the trends for 40 seats show AAP victorious on 26 seats, while the BJP is leading on 14 seats.
