The first day of December this year is marked by amazing deals on hot products at various online shops. From eBay and Amazon to Best Buy, Walmart and Target, online stores are competing to give consumers the best deals possible.

More people are likely to splurge on Cyber Monday than on Black Friday as it is entirely online, meaning you can shop in your pyjamas while lounging on your couch. Also, who wouldn't want to bail on getting trampled at a Target or Walmart store?

Walmart's Cyber Monday lasts throughout 1 December and offers free shipping for all purchases above $50. One of their best deals is for the 55" Samsung 4K Ultra HD 240Hz LED HDTV, for which consumers will only have to pay $998, which is $500 less than its original price. The PS4 Lego Batman & Little Big Planet Console Bundle with Choice of Extra Game and Controller, will be sold at $449, which is $189 less than its actual rate.

 What to Avoid Buying

  • Items that are not on your list: No matter how enticing the discounts get, stick to your list or you might end up spending more than you intended to.
  • Things that are not on sale: While you can find great deals in every category on Cyber Monday, many brands do not offer any discount. Remember to stay away from them.
  • Travel: Travel discounts are often the least impressive during Thanksgiving weekend. So spend your time and money on other items, which would be avaiable at dirt cheap rates.
  • Small token items: Many Cyber Monday deals include small gifts or "2-for-1″ items. Keep an eye out for those, instead of stocking up on small items.
  • Second-hand items: Do your research ahead of time and you can find brand new items at the second-hand rates.
