After more than two months of testing, Cyanogen OS 12.1 update has been released via OTA (Over-the-Air) to the 2014 flagship smartphone, OnePlus One.

The new update (build number: YOG4PAS1N0) is around 645MB and is based on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. It has the Stagefright bug-fix. The news comes days after OnePlus released the similar OxygenOS v1.0.1.

The newer OnePlus One models running Android 5.0 Lollipop series are getting a 304MB update, reported Android Police.

If OnePlus One owners are getting the update notifications on the smartphone, then select >> "Yes, Download" option >> after downloading, click >>Install now. The phone will restart automatically and the OS will be updated to the new version.

Since OTA roll-out is carried out on a staged phase, it will take some time to reach all corners. Currently, only 2 percent OnePlus One owners have received the update as of 3:00 am US EDT, 26 August (12:30 pm IST), OnePlus forum member CasperTFG said.

Until then, users can check for OTA update manually by going to Settings >> About phone >> System update>>Check Now.

[Tip: Before checking for update manually, reboot the smartphone.

If patience is not you best suite, you can flash the update directly on to your device as well.
