Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed the team he is supporting in the Indian Super League. It's NorthEast United FC.

A photo of the Real Madrid and the ex-Manchester United hotshot pledging his support to the North East Indian ISL outfit has gone viral, and has made the fans go crazy.

The message from the Portugal skipper was directed to the NorthEast United FC co-owner, John Abraham. "To my friend John Abraham, Wish All The Best to you and to Northeast United," Ronaldo displayed the handwritten and signed message in a Real Madrid jersey.

It is also believed that the presence of ex-Portugal international and Ronaldo's former national teammate Simao Sabrosa at NorthEast United FC as the marquee player may be the reason the 30-year-old football talisman has shown his support to the ISL side.

And the mere picture only made the supporters of the ISL franchisee go crazy.

The message however did not work wonders for the ISL side as they earned their third straight loss in the ISL this season. FC Goa overpowered them with a 3-1 score in their first home game at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday.

Ronaldo recently won the European Golden Shoe for a record fourth time, and he remained hungry to bag a fifth and a sixth one as well.
