India registered the highest single-day jump in coronavirus cases with 8,392 cases in the last 24 hours on Monday, June 1. With more than 8,000 cases recorded today, the total number of cases in India now stands at 1,90,535, including 93,322 active cases, while 91,819 have been cured/discharged/migrated, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Tamil Nadu records the highest positive cases after Maharashtra

After Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu records 20,246 Covid cases, followed by Delhi (17,386), Gujarat with 15,93, Rajasthan 8,365, Madhya Pradesh 7,645, and Uttar Pradesh 7,284. Kerala registered a sum of 1,150 cases of which 577 are active and 565 recovered.

Today the recovery rate is 39.62%."

1,993 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours

The Health Ministry on Friday, May 1, informed that India has reported 1,993 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and the total tally in the country now stands at 35,043. Meanwhile, 564 Covid-19 patients have been cured in the last 24 hours, taking India's recovery tally to 8,888.

73-year-old man dies of Covid-19 in Karnataka, tally at 535

A 73-year-old man from Tumakuru succumbed to Covid-19, recording Karnataka's 21st such death even as positive cases rose by 12, raising the state's tally to 535, an official said on Wednesday.

"The positive case count is 535, a 73-year-old male patient with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and history of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma and diabetes died," said a health official in an official statement.

Tumakuru is 71 km northwest of Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Covid positive cases rose by 12 to 535 in the state.

Tamil Nadu Covid-19 positive count touches 2,162

Tamil Nadu on Wednesday reported 104 persons testing positive for coronavirus, taking the state's total tally to 2,162 and the death of two more persons, taking the toll to 27.

In a statement issued here, the Health Department also said that 82 Covid-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state.

Covid-19: Three more nursing staff test positive in Gurugram

Three more coronavirus positive cases were reported from Gurugram district on Wednesday, all of them female health workers, an official said.

Confirming the new cases, Covid-19 team member Dr Ram Prakash Jha said that two of the health staff was from the Gurugram Civil Hospital in Sector 10, the third was from Medanta Hospital. Earlier too, such cases among healthcare workers in Gurugram have been reported.

SpiceJet flies 430 flights carrying medical and emergency supplies

SpiceJet B737 freighter carried medical and emergency supplies from Shanghai arrived in Delhi yesterday, April 19. SpiceJet has operated close to 430 cargo flights since lockdown began carrying over 3300 tons of cargo. Of the 430 cargo flights, 130 were international cargo flights.

The restrictions on domestic and international flight operations will be lifted when the central government is confident that the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic has been controlled, and poses no danger to Indians, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said.

40 kids test positive for coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh

Around 40 kids in the age group of 3 to 17 years have tested positive for coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh. Officials said that all the children contracted the deadly virus from family members who attended the Tablighi Jamaat meeting in New Delhi's Nizamuddin area.

Another Covid-19 patient dies in Karnataka, death count 13

A 66-year-old man infected with the coronavirus died here at Victoria hospital, taking the total number of Covid-19 deaths to 13 in the state, a health department official said on Thursday.

"The person infected with the disease was referred to Victoria hospital from a private hospital , where he was on ventilator support since March 10", the official said.

Later, on Wednesday the man succumbed to Covid-19.

With this, the number of deaths caused by Covid-19 reached 13 in the state, whereas the total positive cases stood at 195.
