Computex 2015: ASUS Launches Zenfone Selfie with Dual 13MP Camera

Asus pulled the wraps of the much-awaited Zenfone Selfie at the ongoing Asian consumer electronics trade fair Computex 2015, Taipei, on 1 June.

In terms of outlook, the new Asus Zenfone Selfie looks identical to the company's flagship Zenfone 2, including the curved candy-bar design and placement power-and-volume buttons under the camera module. But under the hood, the company has made a couple of changes like processor and camera.

As the name suggests, Zenfone Selfie's USP is its front camera. It boasts of 13mp camera with f/2.2, 24mm wide angle , 5-prism Largan lens, Toshiba 1/3.2-inch sensor, Dual LED real-tone flash, HDR and low-light selfie feature.

And on the rear side, it comes equipped with equally superior 13mp camera with advanced value-added Laser auto-focus feature.

For the uninitiated, this laser based auto focus feature measures the distance between the subject and the camera using a laser beam enabling quick capture of good quality photos even under low-light conditions. LG G3 (2014) and G4 (2015) are the only tier 1 branded smartphones in the industry to house this feature.

Other notable specifications include 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 Octa-core CPU, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB/32GB inbuilt memory and a 3000 mAh battery.

As of now, the company is yet to announce the release date of Asus Zenfone Selfie as well as its price details. We will update on this as it develops.
