A lot has been said and written about "Comedy Nights With Kapil" going off-air. But, if the latest buzz is anything to go by, the show may not just end, instead host Kapil Sharma could be replaced.

According to a DNA report, the funny man is scheduled to be replaced by "Comedy nights Bachao" anchor Krushna Abhishek, who has managed to hit it off really well. He and his team -- comprising Bharti Singh, Anita Hassanandani, Shruti Seth and Pooja Bannerjee -- have been doing really well and have so far been successful in creating laugh riots.

This could be a severe blow to Kapil and his team as they were already unhappy with the way the other show has been promoted and their's sidelined. Miffed with the news, the audience has taken to Twitter to express their disappointment over the alleged swap. Colors CEO Raj Nayak was trending for a while on social media under the hashtag #shameonrajnayak.

Meanwhile, Kapil confirmed the news of his show coming to end a few days ago, adding that it was unfortunate how their's was sabotaged by the channel in an effort to make the new one a hit. "Yes, it's true. We told them we would go off air in December, but since they didn't have a replacement ready, they requested us to continue till January 17. We started on a good note and put in immense hard work to maintain the quality," The Times of India quoted him as saying.
