Radcliffe, the current holder of the marathon world record time, has slammed the move by the European Athletics Council, which would see all world records before 2005 expunged. The governing body announced that world records would only be recognised if they fulfil several key criteria, mainly surrounding anti-doping measures. The move would also affect British triple jumper Jonathan Edwards, who has held the world record since 1995.
