With the large green trees out and snowflakes covering the driveway, you know that Christmas is round the corner. As the beautiful holiday season comes closer, the world is wrapped in a warm blanket of Christmas carols. The low-key holiday songs add to the colourful Christmas spirits and almost everyone is humming popular carols. Adding a zing to the festive spirit, many celebrities have recorded and released Christmas songs that are not only the cover of famous Christmas carols, but also penned down songs for the theme.

Here's a look at a few songs, which have become synonym to Christmas and always find their way into the Christmas playlist:

All I Want for Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey

A "must-play" song in the Christmas playlist, Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' has become an iconic Christmas song. The song was recorded over two decades ago and yet tops many popular Christmas carol charts. The song will always be remembered for Carey dressing up in a cute Santa suit. Her desire to be reunited with her boy strums many hearts even today.

The then 17-year-old Justin Bieber won many hearts as he sang through the snowfall and looked all-adorable. The singer, who was already popular among girls, won more female hearts as he sang about kissing under the mistletoe. The famous Christmas carol song is still popular among couples during the holiday season.

Frank Sintara has an album full of Christmas songs, A Jolly Christmas, that was released 1957. All his songs are popular among all generation of singers and even after sex decades, his songs find their way into popular sitcoms, malls and carollers hum them as they spread the joy of the holiday spirit. The album constitutes of songs like Jingle Bells, The Christmas Song, Mistletoe and Holly, I'll Be Home for Christmas, The Christmas Waltz, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Silent Night, to name a few.

Destiny's Child by 8 Days of Christmas

The band's first Christmas song, 8 Days of Christmas sees Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams dressed in sexy Santa outfits, boosting about what their "baby" gave them for Christmas. The song debuted at number fifty-nine on the US Billboard 200. Five weeks later, it eventually peaked at number thirty-four.

NSYNC - Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays

One Christmas, Santa Claus is unable to get out and deliver the Christmas gifts. Disappointed, his elf calls the NSYNC band to help him drop all the goodies and spread the Christmas joy around the world. Well this is plotline of the popular song, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays. Even Justin Timberlake could cringe at the video today but the song is a holiday favourite.

Little Drummer Boy by Pentatonix

An acappella cover of the popular Christmas carol, this version of Little Drummer has more than ninety-six million views on YouTube. Performed by the American capella group, Pentatonix, the song brings in the Christmas cheer into your living room. Bonus, the male singers are so good looking that you would find it hard to look away from the video.

Tim Burton's The Night Before Christmas

This is not just a song but a 1993 American stop-motion animated dark fantasy musical film . It was directed by Henry Selick, and produced and conceived by Tim Burton. However, the soundtrack The Nightmare Before Christmas is a huge hit during Christmas. In fact, the soundtrack was nominated for the 1993 Golden Globe for Best Original Score.
