The muhurtham of Srija was reportedly fixed at 9.30 a.m. Monday and her wedding was strictly a family affair. Mega family members like Chiranjeevi and his wife Surekha, Ram Charan and his wife Upasana, Allu Aravind and his wife, Allu Arjun and his wife Sneha, Allu Sirish, Nagababu, Varun Tej, Niharika and others were present on the occasion. Some very close friends of Cherry like Rana Dagubati and Akhil Akkineni made it to the event.
Srija Konidela had eloped and tied the knot with BJP party member Sirish Bharadwaj against the wishes of her family. They have a daughter from their relationship. But their relationship soured when she filed a dowry harassment case against him. The couple got divorced in 2014 and Chiranjeevi was all happy to receive her back into home.
Rumours about Srija Konidela's second marriage started doing the rounds in media late in 2015. She got engaged to Kalyan at a private ceremony earlier this year. The wedding festivities were kick-started in the Mega family in the third week of February 2016 and the photos of the event created a lot of buzz on social media.
The Mega family held mehendi and sangeet ceremony for Srija and Kalyan Sunday morning and evening, respectively, in their farmhouse in the city. Srija reportedly donned a Shravan outfit for the morning function and Sabyasachi design for the evening event. The costumes of the Mega family members were designed by Indrakshi Ria Pattanaik.
The sangeet ceremony was also a family affair and other family members, close friends like Kannada actor Ambareesh and his wife Sumalata, senior director K. Raghavendra Rao, Rana, Akhil and few others were present on the occasion. Srija and Kalyan reportedly danced to some hit songs from Chiranjeevi's movies. The next day morning, social media was flooded with photos of the mehandi and sangeet ceremonies.
The Mega family has reportedly planned to hold a grand reception party for the couple very soon. This event is expected to be a grand affair and who's-who from the South Indian film industry would be in attendance. Some Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, are said to be making it to the event.
However, the family is yet to release the photos of Srija and Kalyan's wedding ceremony. The picturs of the mehandi and sangeet ceremonies, which were released on Instagram and Twitter, have gone viral on social media. Check out the photos of these events below.
