Ram Charan Teja has finally put all the speculations about Megastar Chiranjeevi's 150th movie to rest by making an official announcement that it will be a remake of Vijay's Tamil film "Kaththi".

Ram Charan Teja, who is turning producer with Chiranjeevi's comeback movie, has revealed that the movie will be an official adaptation of "Kaththi". He has also confirmed that the remake will be directed by VV Vinayak.

"Chiru 150th film is confirmed and it's a remake of "Kaththi". I have not announced it anywhere. I am telling it to you for the first time. It is a remake of "Kaththi" and it will be directed by VV Vinayak," the Mega Power Star told FilmiBeat reporter Pravallika Anjuri, when quizzed about the 150th movie of Chiranjeevi.

Speculations about Chiru's comeback film started after the Megastar suffered a severe setback in his political career in the 2014 assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Ram Charan had earlier roped in Puri Jagannath to direct the film. But it was reported later that he had dumped him after he announced back to back projects. He wanted the 100% focus of the director on this film as it is a most-awaited film.

VV Vinayak has earlier directed Chiranjeevi in "Tagore" and the remake of "Kaththi" will be their second combo movie. Their first combo was also the remake of Tamil film "Ramanaa" and it was a blockbuster success at the box office. Surprisingly, their second film is also a remake of a Tamil film. Interesting aspect is that both the Tamil films have been directed by AR Murugadoss.

But some of his fans are sceptic about the success of the "Kaththi" remake. VV Vinayak has churned out back-to-back flop films like "Alludu Sreenu" and "Akhil: The power of Jua". They seem to be worried whether the director will really be able to handle this project, which is expected to be a landmark film in the Telugu film industry.

A movie buff named Srinivas D tweeted, "#Chiranjeevi should try to remake his films like #khaidi instead of #katthi. Adding #vinayak is bad & adding #kona will make a disaster."
