In a shocking suicide incident that hundreds of netizens were privy to,  a teenaged boy in China killed himself even as he updated his microblog till moments before his death.

The teenager, Zeng, committed suicide in his house in Sichuan province in southwest China using drugs on Sunday, and posted updates on a Twitter-like microblog platform in the country.

"I decided to leave the world after deep consideration, don't persuade me to live. I just hope it won't be too painful," Zeng wrote on the blog, Xinhua reported.

His last post on the microblog read as - "I cannot save myself any more as the drugs took effect and I lost strength completely... I love you, but I' m sorry, I will disappear quickly".

What is more shocking is that several people responded to his disturbing posts over four hours of his suicide act, with some persuading him against it and some criticising it. It is not clear if the police were informed of the incident at the time of the youth's blogging.

"The process lasted for more than 4 hours, but it' s regrettable that we failed to save him," a microblog user told Xinhua.

The police found the boy unconscious in his house and took him to a hospital, where he died.

The teenager's posts showed depression and loneliness, as per reports.

The boy's grandmother hinted at a possible heartbreak and a separated family that may have led him to take the drastic step.

"He told me that he fell in love with a girl online, but he was not sure whether she loved him. His parents were divorced when he was 2 years old and he lived with his mother. However, some years later, his mother remarried. So he has since lived with me," Zeng's grandmother said.

Though the case is shocking, this is not the first such online suicide bid reported in the country.
