Chelsea Injury Update: Fabregas Doubtful for Blues' Champions League Clash Against PSG

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Cesc Fabregas is a doubt for the Blues' round of sixteen first-leg clash against Paris Saint-German on Tuesday due to illness.

The 27-year-old, who has been in excellent form since his £32 million switch from Barcelona last summer, is reportedly suffering from a heavy cold as he was seen training in warm clothes on Monday.

And Mourinho has revealed that Fabregas is ill and is a doubt for Chelsea clash against PSG on Tuesday.

"Fabregas has been ill," said Mourinho, according to ESPN, adding that the Blues will be a "different team" without the former Arsenal captain.

"We are a different team with Fabregas, I'm not saying better or worse, I'm saying different. The team grew up from preseason with him on the team and the team went in a certain direction with a style of play."

The Portuguese admits that Chelsea have more possession and control when Fabregas is playing.

"Without him, we lose some control, some possession, we become the same team, well organised, good in transition," added the former Porto boss. "But with him, we control the game better, we have more control of the game. We have possession of the ball because of the nature of the style of player he is."

Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma believes it is too early for him to be compared to France and Chelsea legend Marcel Desailly, who won the World Cup with the Les Bleus in 1998.

The 20-year-old centre-back, who arrived from AS Saint-Étienne for a transfer fee of 12 million last January, has recently drawn a lot of comparisons to Desailly due to him having a similar style of reading the game.

However, Zouma despite admitting that he is "very proud of the comparisons," insists that it is "too early" for him to be compared with a "great player" like Desailly.

"I am very proud of the comparisons, I didn't know about them but Desailly was a great player. It is too early to talk about me the same way," the Frenchman told Daily Mail.

The youngster admits that he is still learning a lot from Chelsea mamager Jose Mourinho, who recently stated that Zouma along with Real Madrid's Raphael Varane are currently the best young defenders in the world.

"He is the best coach in he world, he hates losing and we learn a lot technically and tactically. We want to win every game we play. He conveys that and I have learnt so much," added the centre-back.
