Freddie Roach believes Floyd's uncle is a better cornerman than his dadReuters

The two protagonists for the 2 May fight, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao may have been relatively quiet as compared to the people involved with them in training.

Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach has been the most vocal ever since the fight between the two was officially announced and the Hall of Famer American trainer has not left any stone unturned when it comes to taking a dig at Mayweather's camp.

Over the course of the last few weeks, Roach has stated that the Filipino will defeat Mayweather.

But this time around, he might have gone a step ahead and talked about the animosity that exists. The trainer also stated that he knows Floyd since he was five.

"I've known Floyd since he was five. I think he might be the best one out of the bunch. Roger (Mayweather's uncle), me and him hate each other. If he walked in the door, we might get in a fight," boxingscene.com quoted Roach as saying.

When Pacquaio takes on Mayweather, Roach likens to Mayweather Sr being the cornerman for Floyd rather than Roger, as the uncle is the better cornerman than Mayweather Sr.

"But I like the dad in the corner because he is not the best cornerman. Roger's been there 90-percent of the time. Roger's the better cornerman. Roger gets the message to the fighter better than the dad."

"The dad stutters so much that in the corner I mean...it takes him three minutes to get one word out...ghhh...ghhh..ghhhh...get em!!! So nervous."

But Mayweather Sr, who is Floyd's dad as well as his trainer is aware as to what was said with Roger being a better conrnerman.

"I heard about what Freddie said about Roger's better," mlive.com quoted Mayweather Sr.

"He can say that all he wants to say it. You want me to tell you what Freddie wants? He wants Roger in there because he knows I'm the man."

Irrespective of the cornerman on 2 May, both the boxers have to give it their all inside the ring. The boxer who performs better on the given day will win the bout.

Having said that, what Freddie Roach has done is fired up Mayweather's camp, which could go against the Filipino as well.
