Roy and MSG
Box Office Collection: Ranbir-Arjun's 'Roy' and 'MSG: The Messenger' Start on a Fantastic NoteFacebook

The box office collection of romantic action thriller "Roy" has dropped further on Monday. The drop in the fourth day box office collection is alarmingly high.

"Roy", which was one of the most anticipated movies of 2015, features Ranbir Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles. The film was released in 2500 screens in India on 13 February.

"Roy" started on a positive note and did well on second day, as well. But the collections declined on Sunday due to World Cup match and on Monday also it witnessed huge drop.

In four days the film minted only ₹32.33 crore from domestic box office.

"#Roy Fri 10.40 cr, Sat 11.16 cr, Sun 7.12 cr, Mon 3.65 cr. Total: ₹ 32.33 cr. India biz," trade analysts Taran Adarsh tweeted.

Looking at the current pace, the film would not cross the ₹50 crore mark even in its first week.

The drop in the collection is mainly due to negative reviews the film has got from critics and audience. However, the box office income of "Roy" is expected to pick on Tuesday due to Maha Shivratri 2015 holiday at several places across the country.

"Roy" needs to pick up its pace at the box office so that it enters into safe zone. Otherwise it would be listed along with other flops or disasters of 2015.

Meanwhile, "MSG: The Messenger" has received positive response from audience at the box office. Despite getting negative reviews from critics, the film did well at the box office, especially in the North circuits.

"While the world was glued to #IndvsPak match, fans of #MSGTheFilm collected roughly 5.5 to 6crs in 2 days at the BO ...GODLY," trade analysts Girish Johar tweeted.

"MSG: The Messenger" starring Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh minted approximately ₹6 crore in two days. The film was released in 4000 screens in India along with Ranbir-Arjun starrer "Roy".
