Baby and Dolly Ki Doli
Box Office Collection: Akshay's 'Baby' and Sonam's 'Dolly Ki Doli' Start on a Slow Notefacebook

Among the three new releases, only "Khamoshiyan" performed well at the domestic box office in its opening weekend. Only one film performed well at the box office last weekend (30 January to 1 February) and that is Akshay Kumar's "Baby".

"Khamoshiyan" earned ₹6.67 crore in its opening weekend, which is good considering the star cast. The film has managed to earn the budget amount with the help of satellite rights and domestic box office run.

"#Khamoshiyan Fri 1.92 cr, Sat 2.21 cr, Sun 2.54 cr. Total: ₹ 6.67 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the opening weekend figure.

"Khamoshiyan", produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt, was made on a budget of approximately ₹11 crore. The opening weekend theatrical run has already earned ₹6.67 crore, while the satellite and music rights were sold at ₹7.5 crore. The total of box office earnings and satellite and music rights amount stands at ₹14.17 crore, which is more than the production cost.

On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana starrer "Hawaizaada" has turned out to be a disaster. The film bombed at the box office and it failed to even earn half of its production cost.

The budget of the film is said to be approximately ₹25 crore and the film in its opening weekend has earned only ₹2 crore.

Small budget film "Rahasya" was a non-starrer at the box office.

It was only Akshay's "Baby" that performed well during the 30 January to 1 February weekend, which is its second weekend. The film minted over ₹12 crore in its second weekend and now it is racing fast towards ₹100 crore club.

The 10 days box office earnings of the film stands at ₹76.47 crore. The action thriller has been doing well at ticket windows due to strong word of mouth.

"#Baby has excellent growth on Sunday. [Week 2] Fri 2.85 cr, Sat 3.99 cr, Sun 5.81 cr. Grand total: ₹ 76.47 cr. India biz," Adarsh tweeted.

"Baby" is expected to do well in the coming days, until the release of Amitabh Bachchan's "Shamitabh".

Sonam Kapoor's "Dolly Ki Doli" screen count declined in its second week due to which the business of the film witnessed a downward trend.
