Karthi's Kadaikutty Singam and Shiva's Tamizh Padam 2 have emerged victorious at the Chennai box office. By the end of its second weekend, the Tamil films have earned hit status in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.

In its second weekend, Kadaikutty Singam has earned Rs 1.32 crore from 267 shows. The business, compared to its first weekend, has not drastically dropped. The 10-day total collection of the Karthi's film now stands at Rs 4.16 crore.

Shiva's Tamizh Padam 2, which had minted Rs 2.03 crore in four-day first weekend, has earned Rs 85.58 lakh fro 213 shows to take its total tally to Rs 3.83 crore. Although the CS Amudhan-directorial film is declared hit, the movie has not attracted family audience in big numbers. As a result, the collection has seen a decline compared to Kadaikutty Singam in its second weekend.

This week, Vijay Sethupathi's Junga and Trisha Krishnan's Mohini are scheduled to hit the screens. It has to be seen whether the release of the two hyped flicks would impact on the collections of Kadaikutty Singam and Tamizh Padam 2.

Hollywood movie Skyscrapper starring Dwayne Johnson, who is popularly known as The Rock, has collected Rs 38.69 lakh from 132 shows in its first weekend in Chennai. It is considered to be a good collection for an English flick.

Hindi movie Dhadak, which marks the debut of Jhanvi Kapoor, has earned Rs 32.66 lakh from 93 shows.

Hollywood movies like Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation and Ant-Man and the Wasp are in the next two places by collecting Rs 27.03 lakh from 84 shows and 9.77 lakh from 36 shows to take its 10-day total to Rs 1.29 crore, respectively.
