Baby and Dolly Ki Doli
Box Office Collection: Akshay's 'Baby' and Sonam's 'Dolly Ki Doli' Start on a Slow Notefacebook

Akshay Kumar's "Baby" and Sonam Kapoor's "Dolly Ki Doli" has taken a slow start at the box office, but the occupancy is expected to increase over the opening weekend.

"Baby" an action thriller directed by Neeraj Pandey of "Special 26" and "A Wednesday" fame features Akshay, Rana Daggubati, Anupam Kher, Danny Denzongpa, Taapsee Pannu, Mikaal Zulfiqar and Madhurima Tuli in key roles.

The film has received rave reviews from critics and Bollywood celebrities, but surprisingly the film started on a slow note.

The morning and afternoon show occupancy is in the range of 25 to 30 percent across the country, which is low compared to Akshay's films. In single screens, where Akshay's film generally opens well, the film has started on a low note.

But one cannot discard the point that it is a normal working day and it has been released alongside Sonam's "Dolly Ki Doli".

The box office collection of "Baby" is expected to grow over the opening weekend as the overall buzz is strong. Also, the film has an advantage of long weekend due to 26 January holiday on Monday.

On the other hand, Sonam's "Dolly Ki Doli" has opened to mixed response from critics. The film, which features Pulkit Samrat, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma in lead roles, has witnessed poor occupancy on opening day.

The film has been facing competition from Akshay's "Baby" and will have a tough week ahead as the latter is likely to dominate the box office.
