Akshay Kumar's "Baby" will dominate the box office in its second week, as new releases have opened to dismal response.

"Hawaizaada" and "Khamoshiyan" were released on 30 January in India, but both had poor opening day box office collection.

Hawaizaada

Ayushmann Khurrana and Pallavi Sharda starrer "Hawaizaada" crashed at the box office on the opening day itself. The film, which received negative reviews, earned approximately ₹75 lakh on first day.

The film opened with a lower occupancy and failed to pick up in the evening and night shows. The overall response from multiplexes and single screens is surprisingly very low for a movie starring Ayushmann.

His last film "Bewakoofiyaan" turned out to be a disaster, but managed to have a decent opening.

Khamoshiyan

Horror film "Khamoshiyan" had a better opening than "Hawaizaada" on Friday. The film garnered mixed response at the box office managed to attract audience at the box office on first day.

The erotic love triangle starring Sapna Pabbi, Gurmeet Choudhary and Ali Fazal took an opening of ₹1.92 crore. The collection might increase slightly over the weekend due to its genre.

Baby

Akshay's "Baby" dominated the box office on second Friday in India. The action thriller earned ₹2.10 crore from second Friday run from Indian markets, taking its overall domestic score to ₹65 crore.

"Baby" is slowly reaching the ₹100 crore mark at the domestic collection center. The film might touch the century club by the end of second week, if it continues its strong run.
