The FIFA Appeals Committee have announced that the appeals from outgoing FIFA President Sepp Blatter and UEFA President Michel Platini against the 90-day provisional ban handed to them by the Ethics Committee stands rejected.

The governing body of world football released a statement on Wednesday mentioning that the appeals from the two veteran football administrators have been rejected "in full".

"The decisions taken by the FIFA Appeal Committee were communicated to Mr Blatter and Mr Platini today, 18 November 2015," read the statement. "According to article 67 of the FIFA Statutes, the decisions may be appealed before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS)," it added.

The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee of FIFA last month handed a 90-day ban to Blatter, Platini, as well as outgoing FIFA general-secretary Jerome Valcke.

The UEFA president was not included in the confirmed list of the FIFA presidential candidates to replace Blatter in 2016, and the world football governing body stated that a decision will be taken on Platini's candidacy following the end of his stipulated 90-day ban.
