"The Blacklist" season 3 is currently on a winter break and is expected to return only in January 2016. The network aired its episode 8, titled "Kings of Highway", on 19 November and this mid-season finale episode has left various questions unanswered about Liz's fate in the rest of the season.

Elizabeth Keen's run from the FBI finally came to an end after Ressler arrested her after a long chase in the woods in "Kings of Highway". With this arrest, Ressler believes he can protect Liz better if she is in his custody, but it looks like she is more vulnerable than ever.

A promo for the episode 9, titled "The Director", teases that Liz will be put inside Red's glass box at the Post Office and Red is heard saying: "The Cabal will come for her. If they reach her, it will be the last time you ever see Elizabeth again."

Going by the episode title, we can assume that the mid-season premiere of "The Blacklist" season 3 will revolve around CIA director and Liz's arrest has put her in danger as she is now accessible to the director.

"The next two episodes are [about] the Director (David Strathairn). It's a two-parter. His plan is less about just her safety, and more about leveling the playing field. What the audience is going to see is we've been laying in these breadcrumbs over the past eight episodes, everything from hits against The Cabal to the plan with Marvin Gerard (Fisher Stevens) in the second episode. It's a very complex, and yet simple plan that he's been hatching since the end of season 2, quite frankly," said Jon Bokencamp in an interview.

We know that Ressler won't betray Liz, but does he have the ability to protect her? Will Red fall weak in front of the powerful The Cabal? Will Ressler-Red team fail to protect Liz? Well, we will get to know the answers when the show returns next year.

"The Blacklist" season 3 is on mid-season break and will return with "The Director" on 7 January, 2016. For more information on the upcoming episode and live streaming details, don't forget to check back here.
