Nayantara, who celebrates her 31st birthday on Wednesday (18 November), has returned to the top position again after hat-trick hits. Her last three films in Kollywood have kept the cash registers ringing and made producers form a beeline for her dates.

The year 2015 has been special for the actress because she tasted success without being part of big stars' films. Nayantara has proven that she herself is a star and has the ability to deliver hits on her own, which is a rarity in male-dominated industry. Now, let's take a look at those hat-trick movies which has reinstated her position in Kollywood as the top actress.

"Thani Oruvan"
Nayantara's "Massu" starring Suriya did not live up to the expectations. Even before this film, some of her other projects failed to make it big at box office. This is when "Thani Oruvan" happened and the actress could not have asked more from director Jayam Raja. The movie has turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2015. The film is now being remade in multiple languages and this alone gives an indication of the success of the film.

Though Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy stole the limelight, Nayantara too had a good role and this was the much-needed hit for her at that point of time.

"Maya"
Nayantara's female-centric movie "Anaamika" had failed to impress the audience. But it did not deter her from signing one more woman-oriented movie in the form of "Maya". The result is that the film has turned out to be a feather in her cap. The interesting part of the story is that the makers had not expected the film to do so well.

"Naanum Rowdydhaan"
After crime-thriller and horror films, Nayantara was seen in romantic-comedy movie "Naanum Rowdydhaan". The movie starring Vijay Sethupathi too won the hearts of the audience and Nayantara delivered her third successful movie in 2015.

The success of the three movies has brought her to the numero uno position again. Nayantara is expected to continue her dream run with promising forthcoming films like "Idhu Namma Aalu" starring Simbu, "Thirunal" starring Jeeva and Karthi's "Kashmora".
