The controversial TV reality show "Bigg Boss" is all set to entertain viewers with its ninth edition. But unlike its previous seasons, "Bigg Boss 9" promises to bring many more surprises, gossips to keep its viewers hooked to their TV sets.

Even as it is known that Salman Khan will be reprising his role as the host in the new season, here, is the detailed information about the controversial show.

Show premiere date and timing: The show will start airing on 11 October at 9 pm on Colors TV. After the opening episode, the show will air every Monday to Friday at 10.30 pm. However, the timing of Salman's "weekend ka war" episodes is yet to be revealed. Viewers can also watch it online on Color TV - YouTube.

Theme of Bigg Boss 9: Every year, the popular show comes up with new themes. This time, the theme is "Double Trouble" where contestants will be competing in couples. The couples will have to reportedly face their exes, and their lives inside the house will be made tougher by introducing monitored crying babies.

Further, there were reports that couples with different personalities will be mixed and matched to complete a given task. However, much like last year, wherein the aeroplane theme got over within the first few weeks of the show, this time as well, the couple-twist will be removed after three weeks.

Contestants: While several names of probable contestants have been doing the rounds, the final list of housemates has been kept a secret by the makers.

Salman's look-alike Najeem Khan, who featured in "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", Ranbir Kapoor's cousin Armaan Jain, who made his Bollywood debut with "Lekar Hum Deewana Dil", former couple Ankit Gera and Roopal Tyagi, who worked together in "Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke" show and India's first gay brand ambassador Nakshatra Bagwe are likely to participate.

Other possible contestants of the new season are TV celebrities Sunil Grover, Mahhi Vij, Arshi Khan, Mayur Verma and Mohit Malhotra.

However, Roopal, Armaan and Sunil have apparently denied participating in "Bigg Boss 9".
