Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who hosted a season of controversial reality show "Bigg Boss", is likely to make an appearance in "Bigg Boss 9" premiere day.

Co-incidentally, "Bigg Boss 9" will kickstart on Big B's 73rd birthday on 11 October and host Salman Khan is willing to invite senior Bachchan on the inaugural day.

"Salman personally intends to invite the senior icon to spend a small portion of his special day on the show on the inaugural episode," a source told Bollywood Life.

"Earlier it was just a coincidence that the show was to premiere on his birthday. But now the Bigg Boss team intends to honour the occasion. They will go through the cake-cutting ceremony and the contestants will wish him on the occasion," the source added.

Recently, there were rumours that Akshay Kumar will be co-hosting "Bigg Boss 9" with Salman Khan. However, the "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" actor denied the rumours.

If the "Piku" actor makes an appearance on the show's premiere day, it would indeed be a treat for his as well as Salman's fans as they will be able to see the stars sharing screen space together.

Salman's "Bigg Boss 9" will premiere at 9 pm on Colors Channel. However, after the opening episode, the show will air every Monday to Friday at 10.30 pm.

Meanwhile, Big B is gearing up for his new reality show "Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi", which will see the megastar in a different avatar. The show will be telecast in Star Plus and will mark the 72-year-old actor's return to the channel after 15 years.
