AMC spin-off series "Better Call Saul" will take viewers through a new journey when it returns with season 2 in 2016. The transition of James Morgan McGill aka Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) to Saul Goodman is likely to be the main focus of the upcoming sequel. But before converting himself into a villain, the character will have to go through a lot of challenges.
Fans of the popular television drama got a glimpse of Odenkirk's character through the two officially released behind-the-scene photos.
While one of the images focus on executive producers Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan, the other portray McGill in trouble as it shows two men confronting him, according to Den of Geek.
Sharing a few details about "Better Call Saul" season 2, creator Gould said, "The thing to look at is how close is Jimmy McGill to being the guy we met on "Breaking Bad"? The Saul Goodman we met on "Breaking Bad" recommends murder as a business strategy. Do you think Jimmy McGill would do that?"
The executive producer even shared his concerns about the second season. "Jimmy McGill is somebody I love and root for, and it makes me a little sad and worried to see how he's going to evolve into this other person. It makes me wonder if I know everything about Saul Goodman, as he appeared on Breaking Bad," The Hollywood Reporter quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, Odenkirk stated that Jimmy McGil will always be loved by the viewers of the show. "I think the crazy thing is that ultimately Jimmy McGill is going to be a much more remembered character than Saul Goodman as time goes by. And then when you see Saul Goodman in about a year or two, after we've told this story for a while, you're not going to see Saul Goodman anymore, you're going to see Jimmy McGill playing Saul Goodman," he told Los Angeles Times.
So it remains to be seen if the viewers of "Better Call Saul" will take the protagonist's character change positively and make season 2 a success or stop watching the show.
