Most of the major mobile phone manufacturing companies are eyeing Indian market, which is one of the largest markets with huge growth potential. Being an emerging and price-conscious market, smartphone makers are trying to make their presence felt in the country by releasing budget devices. There are dozens of handsets priced under Rs. 7,000 that are currently available in the market but Micromax Canvas Fire 5 is the only notable device released in the last one month.

Micromax Canvas Fire 5

Priced at Rs. 6,199, the device sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density), powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek (MT6580) quad-core processor and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. It has a 16GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card, 1GB RAM, 8MP main camera with LED flash, full HD video recording and autofocus, 5MP front-snapper, and a 2,500mAh RAM. In terms of connectivity, it supports Dual-SIM (type: micro), Bluetooth , Wi-Fi, micro USBGPS, FM Radio, and A-GPS.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime

The device comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,999. It features a 4.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1,280x720 pixels (312 ppi pixel density), a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocking at 1.2 GHz, and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat (upgradable to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based MIUI 7.2.1). It sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (294 ppi pixel density) and is priced at Rs. 6,999. Under the hood, it has a Mediatek MT6735 processor clocking at 1.3 GHz, Android 5.1 Lollipop based UI - Flyme 4.5, 16GB internal storage expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card, and a 2GB RAM. It also features a 13MP main camera with Æ’/2.2 aperture, 5MP front-snapper and non-removable 2,500mAh battery.

Coolpad Note 3 Lite

Priced at Rs. 6,999, the device sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720x1,280 pixels (294 ppi pixel density), powered by a Mediatek MT6735 processor clocking at 1.3 GHz, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It also features a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card), 3GB RAM, 13MP main camera with autofocus and LED flash, 5MP front-snapper, and a 2,500mAh battery.
