Like Raj–Simran from "DDLJ", 2014 has given several on-screen romantic couples to Bollywood. Their romance touched millions of hearts and proved to be a big factor in ensuring box office hits for many movies.  

Here are the best on-screen romantic couples of 2014.

Shah Rukh – Deepika

This couple truly deserves to be at the top of best on-screen couples. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have made history by giving blockbusters whenever they have come together on-screen. Last year's "Chennai Express" and this year's "Happy New Year" both joined the ₹100 crore club. The on-screen couple stole many hearts with their sizzling and sweet chemistry, especially in the song 'Manwa Lage' in "Happy New Year." 

Hrithik – Katrina

Be it "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" or this year's "Bang Bang," Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif have been the hottest on-screen couple. Their good-looking, sensual looks have always worked wonders on the silver screen. The duo compliment each other well, which contributed to the box office success of their latest film "Bang Bang." 

Salman – Jacqueline

Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez made their debut on the silver screen as a couple this year with their film "Kick." Their on-screen chemistry was so good, so real that it continued to make news even off-screen.   

Alia – Arjun

Chetan Bhagat's novel "2 States" inspired director Abhishek Verman to give life to the romance of Krish and Ananya's characters on-screen. The newbies of B-town, Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, played the characters tremendously well and won the hearts of the audience. Their chemistry, especially the on-screen kiss, created buzz all over.

Sidharth – Parineeti

A unique story of "Hasee Toh Phasee" brought out the sweet chemistry between Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra's characters. The on-screen couple sizzled the audience with their cute romantic scenes in the film.

Varun – Alia

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt had given their glimpse of romance earlier as well in Karan Johar's "Student of the Year". This year, the two romanced each other in their film "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania." They were so comfortable with each other on-screen that rumours buzzed of them dating each other.

Shraddha – Sidharth

"Ek Villian" fame pair Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra stole the hearts of many with their innocent and beautiful portrayal of a love story. An angry young man and a bubbly kind-hearted girl fall for each other in the film; the actors played these roles well and the film was a hit at box office.

Sonam – Fawad

Fawad Khan - who debuted in Bollywood this year in "Khoobsurat" - and Sonam Kapoor, became the most loved couple of the year. The love story of a quirky girl and a royal prince in the film was appreciated by everyone. The successful pair will soon be doing another film. 

Shahid – Shraddha

Vishal Bhardwaj brought a new couple on the screen in his film "Haider." Newbie Shraddha Kapoor romanced Shahid Kapoor in the film. The duo were well appreciated by cine buffs. 

Sonakshi – Akshay

Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha have done several films together, including "Boss" released this year. The duo look comfortable being romantic on-screen.
