Ravi Teja's previous release "Kick 2", which had hit theatres on 21 August, failed at the box office. Hence, the actor was extra-careful about "Bengal Tiger" and he has left no stone unturned for the movie, which has made headlines for several good reasons. The makers have also adopted several unique strategies and have done a massive promotion for the film.

The hype and promotion helped "Bengal Tiger" to record good advance bookings in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T). The movie has registered over 85% occupancy in both single screens and multiplexes in early morning and regular morning shows. Many theatres ran to packed houses in both the regions, where it has released in around 700 cinema halls.

"Bengal Tiger" has garnered mixed response from the audience, who say it has a routine story, but is a good entertainer. The word-of-mouth is expected to take its business upwards in the afternoon and evening shows. As per early trends, the movie would do a superb collection at the AP/T box office on the first day. It will become the biggest opener for Ravi Teja, beating all his previous records.

But "Bengal Tiger" had an average amount of advance bookings in other parts of India and it has debuted with lukewarm response in these areas. Its business is expected to grow in the later shows. However, the movie has received good response in premiere shows in North America and has reportedly collected $33,850 from 74 locations at the US box office in the paid previews.
