Barcelona Champions League Final
Barcelona players celebrate their win over Juventus in the Champions League finalReuters

Barcelona showed just why they are currently the most feared team in the world, putting on another attacking masterclass to beat Juventus in the Champions League final.

Goals from Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar were enough for Barcelona to top Juventus 3-1 in the final in Berlin, with the early second half strike from Alvaro Morata proving to be nothing more than a consolation in the end.

Barcelona dominated the match in the first half, holding most of the possession and the majority of the chances as well.

Rakitic was on hand to finish off a wonderful move from Barca, which started with Lionel Messi, and also had Jordi Alba, Neymar and Andres Iniesta, who provided the assist, all involved.

That early goal was a huge dent to Juventus' plans, but the Italians just about hung on until halftime and gave Barca a jolt of their own as Morata scored on 55 minutes.

However, parity would not last too long in the match as Suarez, in his first season after a £75 million move from Liverpool, got that goal he would have been dreaming of, the goal which proved to be the winner.

Messi was the creator, of course, running at the Juve defence before striking on goal, with Buffon making a smart save to his right. However, Suarez was there at the right place to thump home the rebound and Barcelona ensured there would be no second equalising goal for Juventus this time around, with Neymar rounding the match off with a late, late goal in virtually the last kick of the game.

Juventus, in the end, just did not have enough in their kitty to stop the swathe of Barcelona attacks, and on another night this game could have easily finished with a higher scoreline in the Spanish team's favour.

Nobody can grudge Barca this win, a title which confirmed their treble of the La Liga, Copa Del Rey and Champions League, while giving a fitting send-off to the greatest Spanish player of all-time – Xavi Hernandez, who played his final match in a Barcelona shirt in the biggest game of the season.
