The much-awaited first look teaser and the audio of "Thaarai Thappattai" were released on Friday, 25 December, to coincide with the Christmas celebration.
"Thaarai Thappattai" is a special movie for the Tamil audience as it happens to be the 1,000th film of legendary Ilayaraja. Kavitha Gopai, Priyadarshini, Sathya Prakash, Surmukhi, Sharreth, MM Manasi and Prasanna have crooned the songs for the landmark movie of the Music Maestro.
Mohanraj, Manikkavasagar and Ilayaraaja himself have penned the lyrics for the songs in "Thaarai Thappattai", which stars Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles. The album has six tracks of which two feature the flick's theme music.
Adding to that, the first look teaser has also been released. It is a 26-second-long clip that just gives a glimpse of Sasikumar and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's characters. The background score by the legend has also added good value to the teaser.
"Thaarai Thappattai" has been written and directed by maverick filmmaker Bala. He has collaborated with Sasikumar for the first time in the movie, which has Sathish Kaushik, Amudhavaanan, Kaavya Sha, Pragathi Guruprasad and others in the cast.
The movie is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, which is producing Rajinikanth's mega-budget project "2.0" starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson.
