The new poster of "Bajirao Mastani" featuring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone will capture hearts at once.

The poster shows Ranveer and Deepika in royal attire. The way Ranveer holds Deepika shows the deep and intense feeling of love between the two. The "Dil Dhadakne Do" actor captioned the photo: "The Love Story of a Warrior."

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial is a period drama, and the makers of the film have recently released the trailer, which has garnered immense appreciation from all quarters.

Ranveer is playing the character of Peshwa Bajirao, while Deepika is his second wife, Mastani, and Priyanka is Bajirao's first wife Kashibai.

Bhansali's ambitious project, which will release on 18 December, is based on the love story of warrior Peshwa Bajirao and Mastani.

Meanwhile, several controversies have already surrounded the film, and especially the song "Pinga".

Mohini Karkarey, a descendant of the Peshwas, has written an open letter to director Bhansali claiming Kashibai could not have danced like Priyanka does in the song because she suffered from arthritis. Also, Mastani was not a courtesan, but the daughter of Raja Chatrasaal of Bundelkhand.

During the trailer launch event, a reporter asked the actresses' views on this issue. While Deepika kept mum, Priyanka decided to answer the question.

"The film is a part of history. The film is based on the book 'Rau', and it is also his version of what happened in Bajirao and Mastani love story," said Priyanka, who joined the cast of "Bajirao Mastani" via video call from the US.

"Please, look at it as a beautiful rendition of an epic saga told from the viewpoint of Sanjay sir and nothing more," she said.
