Popular two-wheeler maker Bajaj has added a new variant to its commuter motorcycle range V12 in India. The V12, the younger sibling of the V15, is now also available with a front disc brake. The V12 disc brake variant has been priced at Rs. 60,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is about Rs. 3,000 more than the regular variant of the V12.

There are no other changes in the V12 motorcycle except the addition of the front disc brake. It continues to be powered by the 124.6cc single cylinder DTS-i engine that develops 10bhp at 8000rpm and 11Nm of torque at 5500rpm mated to five-speed gearbox. It measures 2,040 mm in length, 785 mm in width, 1,066 mm in height and has a ground clearance of 165 mm. while the 240 mm disc does the duty at the front, the rear gets 130mm brake. It features spoke alloy wheels and runs on slimmer 100/90 tyres at the rear.

Although Bajaj offered V with drum brake, the V12 was launched without disc brake options to cut the cost of the model. With the addition of the disc brake variant, the V12 range is now expected to be a better option for the buyers who are looking to buy a motorcycle in its range. The Bajaj V12 is pitted against Honda CB Shine and Hero Glamour in its segment.

Powering the V, the bike made from the metal of the dismantled INS Vikrant, is a 149.5cc single-cylinder four-stroke air-cooled DTS-i engine that can churn out a maximum power of 11.8bhp at 7,500rpm and 13Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
