Pune-based bike maker Bajaj is betting big on its new Pulsar RS 200 to stretch its reach in the Indian market. The company, which launched its new Pulsar RS 200(Race Sport), aims to sell 2,500 units of the new model every month.

A report of Auto Car Professional said that Bajaj is eyeing a sale of 2,500 Pulsar RS 200 per month with both ABS and non-ABS variants of the model contributing equally. Pulsar RS 200, the model which is touted as the 'Fastest Pulsar' is also the first Pulsar to offer an ABS system, a Bosch-made single-channel unit and the model claims to attain a top speed of 140.8 kmph.

Bajaj, a popular name in the two wheeler market has had tremendous success with its other Pulsar models in the country and with the latest Pulsar RS 200 too the company is hoping to do the same.

Pulsar RS 200, the latest name in the sports motorcycle segment is the fully-faired version of Pulsar 200NS.The model looks stylish and chic in its new avatar and is pitched against the Hero Karizma R, Yamaha YZF-R15 and KTM RC200 in the domestic market.

Power comes from a 199.5cc single cylinder, 4 stroke, SOHC 4valve, liquid cooled engine which is tuned to churn out 24.5 ps of power @ 9750 rpm and 18.6nm of torque @ 8000 rpm and comes mated to a 6-speed transmission. The features of Pulsar RS 200 include twin projector headlamps, crystal LED tail lights, ABS and stubby exhaust, digital-analogue instrument cluster, split seats and clip-on handlebars.

On a wheelbase of 1,355 mm, Pulsar RS 200 measures 1,999 mm in length, 765 mm in width and 1,114 mm in height and is offered in two variants-Pulsar RS 200 ABS and non-ABS.

The bookings for Pulsar RS 200 are open in the country with a down payment of ₹5,000 and the model is available in red and yellow colours. While the Pulsar RS 200 ABS variants has been priced at ₹130, 000, the Non-ABS is priced at ₹118,000 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
