SS Rajamouli's "Baahubali - the Beginning", which has made amazing collection at the box office in four weeks, is facing a threat from Superstar Mahesh Babu's "Srimanthudu" in its fifth week.

Superstar Mahesh Babu is one of the most popular Telugu actors and his movies have proved to be big hits not only in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh but also in many regions across the world. His latest outing, "Srimanthudu", was initially slated to release on 17 July, just a week after the release of "Baahubali - the Beginning".

But the makers of "Baahubali - the Beginning", who were aware of Mahesh Babu's huge fan base, requested the actor as well as the producers of "Srimanthudu" to postpone its release. Mahesh Babu realised that the "baahubali" team needed to recover the huge production cost and hence, delayed his movie almost by a month.

Now, "Srimanthudu" is all set for a grand release across the globe on 7 August. The makers have booked over 2,000 screens for the film. This means that many screens have been snatched from "Baahubali - the Beginning" in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, the US and some key regions across the world, and this will surely affect the collection of the Telugu version of "Baahubali"

Another big threat for "Baahubali" is that "Selvadhan" and the Tamil version of "Srimanthudu" are releasing on the samne day as the Telugu version of the Mahesh Babu starrer. "Selvandhan" will snatch some screens from "Baahubali" in Tamil Nadu and will take a toll on the collection of the Tamil version of "Baahubali - the Beginning".

Released in over 4,200 screens around the world on 10 July, "Baahubali - the Beginning" opened to a thunderous response and continued to rock the ticket counters across the globe for weeks. The Prabhas starrer has grossed approximately Rs 520 crore at the worldwide box office in 27 days.

Despite clashing with "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", "Drishyam", "Maari" and some other movies, "Baahubali - the Beginning" kept the bells ringing at the box office and registered an average of 65% of occupancy in the theatres around the globe even in its fourth week. It has emerged as the fourth all time highest grosser Indian movie, beating the records of many big-ticket Bollywood films.

"Baahubali - the Beginning" is now fast racing to dethrone Aamir Khan's blockbuster film "Dhoom 3" from the third place in the list of all time highest grosser Indian movies at the worldwide box office. But, the movie may not be able to achieve this feat as it will clash with "Srimanthudu" on its 29th day.
