There are few movies in the history of Indian cinema that are loved by the public till date. These movies proved to be the biggest hits of all time and viewers still watch them with equal interest after all these years. 

Here are ten such movies which you don't want to be remade ever:

1. 3 Idiots (2009)

"3 Idiots", directed by Rajkumar Hirani, won the hearts of the viewers with its unique storyline and balanced cast list. The film taught us simple lessons of life in an entertaining way. Aamir Khan's stardom, R.Madhavan's narration, Sharman Joshi's comedy, Kareena Kapoor's beauty and Boman Irani's experience, led the team to win many awards. Khan's character of Rancho was loved by the viewers and a thought of remaking the cinema will not be welcomed by fans.

2. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jeyenge (1995)

The classic Raj-Simran love story in "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) has been one of the best love stories in the Indian cinema so far. The movie, starring Shah Rrukh Khan and Kajol, was a box office hit. DDLJ, which was made under the direction of Aditya Chopra, is so popular that a theatre in Mumbai is still screening the film. Though the recent Bollywood film "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania", starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, is inspired by DDLJ, the movie was not as successful as the classic hit.

3. Hum Aapke Hain Koun (August 1994)

The musical comedy film "Hum Aapke Hain Koun" directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya was a blockbuster hit of the time. The family oriented cinema showed Indian wedding traditions and close knit Indian families. In the movie, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit portrayed the complicated love story of a romantic couple. This was a classic movie with very neat ingredients sans any kind of violence. Viewers can never forget the climax where Tuffy, the dog, made the marriage of the lead couple possible. 

4. Andaaz Apna Apna (April 1994)

Bollywood movie "Andaaz Apna Apna" is known for its comedy. Superstars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan made a mark in the film history with their comic timing. The movie also starred Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor. Initially the movie was not a hit at the box-office but later it was included in the list of Bollywood hits. There are rumours of remaking the movie with Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan, but it will evidently be a challenge to recreate the character of Amar and Prem.

5. Maine Pyaar Kiya (1989)

"Maine Pyaar Kiya", directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya, became the blockbuster of the decade. The movie, starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree, focused on the life of two friends who gradually fall in love with each other. The dialogue "dosti ka usool hai, no sorry no thank you" is still famous among movie lovers. One of the most remembered scenes of the movie is where the actress sends messages through a pigeon. 

6. Mr. India (1987)

"Mr. India" was the fantasy superhero movie of that time, in which the lead actors Anil Kapoor and Sridevi's performance made it a lifetime success. From the dialogue "Mogambo khush hua" to Sridevi's romance with an invisible guy made it a blockbuster. The entertainment world is still in love with the character Mogambo played by Amrish Puri.

7. Sadma (1983)

"Sadma", starring Kamal Hassan and Sridevi, was an all time success. The actors gave goose bumps to the viewers with their stunning performances. Sridevi received State Award as well as National Award for her performance in the movie as a autistic child-woman. While the Hindi version did extemely well winning numerous accolades, the Tamil version "Moondram Pirai," by Balu Mahendra failed to make a mark in the box office. 

8. Mera Naam Joker (1970)

"Jeena Yaha Marna Yaha" song performed by actor Raj Kapoor can still bring tears in the viewers' eyes. The storyline was about a clown who makes people laugh at the cost of his own sorrow. This all time classic is hard to recreate.

9. Padosan (1968)

Comedy film "Padosan", starring Sunil Dutt and Saira Banu, can still make you laugh. The movie was loved by the audience for the incredible performance of its cast.

10. Awara (1951)

Hindi film "Awara", directed and produced by Raj Kapoor, was also a block buster movie of the time. The lead role of the film is played by Raj Kapoor and Nargis. The couple created magic with their performance that not only made a mark on India but also garnered appreciation from Russia . It was a classic romantic story of a poor boy and a rich girl.
