Audi A3 Sedan Launched in India; Price, Booking Details

German Luxury car maker Audi launched its entry level A3 sedan in India with a price tag starting at ₹22.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Offered in both petrol and diesel engines in the country, the new compact sedan of Audi is available in four trims. The petrol model of A3 is powered by 1.8L turbo-charged inline four-cylinder engine, which can churn out 177 HP at 4,500 rpm and 250 Nm of torque and the diesel gets power from 2.0 L TDI engine that can generate 141 HP and 320 Nm of torque.

Talking of the features in the new sedan, like Audi's any other luxury models, the latest A3 also comes loaded with all the bells and whistles. It features bi-xenon headlamps, panoramic sun-roof, automatic dual zone air-conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels and more.

The company has already started the bookings for new A3 sedan in India. Though Audi A3 does not have a direct rival in the domestic market, the car will be competing against the likes of Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1 Series.

Audi A3, the cheapest offering of the car maker, is also the first car from the luxury maker to be produced locally before its launch in the country.

Audi's current portfolio in India includes A4, A6, A8 in the passenger car segment (S6 and S4 in the performance versions of these sedans), Q3, Q5 and Q7 in the SUV segment and R8, V8 and R8 Spyder in the sports car category.

In this, A6, A4, Q5, Q7 and Q3 were brought as completely built units (CBUs) initially, though they are being locally manufactured in India now.
