The much-hyped Asus ZenFone 2 has finally hit European shores with all the three models – ZE551ML, ZE550ML and ZE500CL – being released at a special event in Paris, France earlier this week.
Asus ZenFone 2 was announced at the CES 2015 before releasing it in China a few weeks later. Now, it has made its entry into Europe with France being the first country to get it.
Asus has confirmed the release of its ZenFone 2 in France via Twitter and has even revealed the price.

Asus France revealed that prices of the ZenFone 2-series will start at €179 (approximately $193 / ₹12,000) for the entry-level ZenFone 2 ZE500CL, while the ZenFone 2 ZE550ML comes with price tag of €249 (approximately $268 / ₹16,700) and the top-end model ZenFone 2 ZE551ML to be priced at €349 (approximately $375 / ₹23,500) though it will be available at €299 (approximately $321 / ₹20,100) as promotional offer.
Asus had earlier revealed the price of all the three models of the ZenFone 2 on its official website:
- ZenFone 2 ZE500CL is priced at TWD 4,990 (around ₹9,930 / $159)
- ZenFone 2 ZE550ML is priced at TWD 5,990 (around ₹11,900 / $191)
- ZenFone 2 ZE551ML 4GB RAM/64GB memory model is priced at TWD 9990 (around ₹19,850 / $320)
- ZenFone 2 ZE551ML 4GB RAM/32GB memory model is priced at TWD 8,990 (around ₹17,900 / $288)
- ZenFone 2 ZE551ML 2GB RAM/16GB memory model is priced at TWD 6,990 (around ₹13,900 / $224)
All the models of ZenFone 2 will be available on Asus Shop and other online retail stores like Darty, Cdiscount, and Auchan.
The device is expected to be launched in the US and other countries in the next few weeks. However, it is reported that only 4GB RAM variant of ZenFone 2 will be released in India where it is expected to arrive later this month.
The Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) is a top-end device in the series and comes in 2GB and 4GB RAM variants. It sports a 5.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels (403 ppi pixel density), powered by Intel Atom Z3580 processor and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has 16/32/64GB internal memory expandable up to another 64GB, 13 MP main camera with LED flash and 5 MP front snapper, and non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery.
The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE550ML variant sports a 5.5-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS screen, powered by Atom Quad Core Z3560 clocking at 1.8GHz and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has 16GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB, 2GB RAM, 13MP main camera and 5MP front snapper, and 3000 mAh battery.
The Asus ZenFone 2 ZE500CL is the most affordable device with 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS screen, powered by Atom Z2560 processor clocking at 1.6GHz and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It comes packed with 16GB internal memory expandable up to 64GB and 2GB RAM, 8MP main camera and 2MP front snapper and 2500 mAh battery.
