The ninth edition of the Asiavision Awards ceremony held at the Sharjah International Stadium turned out to be a starry affair with the presence of the very best from the Indian film industry. The star-studded event was made even more special with Bollywood star and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai.

The award function honoured Aishwarya with the "Icon of the Year" award and Tamil superstar Dhanush and Shruthi Haasan were given with the "Youth Icon of India" awards.

All eyes were on actress Aishwarya Rai who appeared in a dazzling red outfit. The actress thanked the audience for all the support given to everyone in the creative field of cinema. The actress later danced with Shamna Khazim and her dance team for the song "Khajraare."

Manju Warrier starrer "How Old Are you?" was announced as the Best Movie and Mammootty and Manju will walk away with the Best Actor and Actress awards this year. The superstar will be honoured for his performances in "Munnariyippu" and "Balyakalasakhi".

Mammootty's son Dulquer Salmaan also received the "Performer of the Year" award and said that he was thrilled to be sitting next to Ash. Nivein Pauly and Innocent also won "Star of the Year" and "Man of the Year" Awards respectively.

The event was also made memorable with the performances of Stephen Devassy, Gopi Sunder, Najeem Arshad, Ranjini Jose, Sayanora and Sanusha.
