Television actor Ashish Sharma, who plays the lead role of Ram in "Siya Ke Ram," suffered a serious spinal cord injury during the shooting of an action sequence. Although, the incident occurred some time ago, the pain recurred recently.

The actor has now been adviced to undergo a surgery. However, being a true professional, Ashish has delayed the surgery as he can't let the show get affected because of his injury.

"I had injured myself a long time ago when I fell off from the horse while doing a scene. But I didn't realize it was so serious then. The pain recurred recently and the doctors suggested surgery for it. I have postponed the surgery for now," Ashish told The Times of India.

Further, the show demands the actor to shed weight for the upcoming vanvaas sequence, which has made things more difficult for him. "I am not fit, but I can't let the shooting suffer. In fact, the vanvaas sequence requires me to shed weight that I had gained for the wedding sequence. I need to look leaner again," Ashish added.

Meanwhile, Ashish recently made news when he stormed out of the sets of his show without shooting a single scene. The actor was not feeling well when he reached the sets for the shoot and found that the crew members weren't prepared for the shoot, which left him furious.

Meanwhile, on "Siya Ke Ram," after the grand Swayamvar, the viewers witnessed the magnificent wedding of Lord Ram and Sita.
