Arsenal could land another world class talent in the January transfer window, with reports saying Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to allow Petr Cech move to the Emirates.

Recent reports claimed Arsenal were keen on the services of Cech, with Arsene Wenger considering a £7 million bid for the experienced shotstopper.

Cech has been tipped to leave Chelsea in the January transfer window after losing his number one spot to Thibaut Courtois, who, it must be said, has more than justified that decision made by Mourinho.

However, Mourinho was thought to be a major problem in that particular "Cech to Arsenal" transfer, with the Portuguese, as we all know, not exactly in the best of terms with Wenger.

Mourinho, in the summer of 2013, blocked a deadline day move for Demba Ba to Arsenal, and a transfer between two of London's biggest clubs was again deemed unlikely.

However, the Cech move now looks possible, with Mourinho ready to allow his goalkeeper to leave Chelsea to the team of his preference as a mark of respect for the immense service the Czech Republic international has given to the club, according to the Daily Express.

Arsenal, though, do have two goalkeepers already in their ranks in Wojciech Szczesny and David Ospina, who only moved to the Emirates in the summer transfer window from Nice.

Even if Ospina has had injury problems since his transfer, it remains unlikely that Wenger will want to spend cash on bringing in a goalkeeper in January.

Szczesny, while showing he is still prone to making mistakes, has looked a better goalkeeper this season as well, and Wenger is known to be a big fan of the Poland international.

If that Cech signing were to be made, then one of the two current Arsenal goalkeepers will have to be sold, as Wenger will not want three quality international custodians in his lineup.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if Wenger is indeed really interested in signing Cech from Chelsea in the January transfer window, because the Arsenal manager's priority should be to sign a central defender and a defensive midfielder.

Update:

According to the Daily Star, Arsenal have agreed a deal in "principle" with Chelsea to sign Petr Cech in the January transfer window. If the move goes through, it will surely be one of the most interesting and surprising transfers.
