Arsenal are reportedly keeping an eye on Palermo striker Paulo Dybala as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options in the winter transfer window.
Ever since the departure of Robin van Persie to Manchester United in the summer of 2012, Arsenal's goal tally has been steadily decreasing, with them only managing 72 and 68 Premier League goals in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 season respectively.
This season, despite the arrivals of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United and Barcelona respectively, Arsenal have only managed 19 goals in 11 Premier League fixtures.
Due to this reason, Arsenal are reportedly hunting for someone who will be able to give them 25 to 30 goals per season.
The Gunners were earlier being linked with a January move for PSG's Edinson Cavani, but the transfer looks highly unlikely due to the Uruguayan's huge £50 million price tag.
As a result, the Gunners have now turned their attention towards Palermo striker Paulo Dybala, who is being dubbed as the 'the new Sergio Aguero', according to the Express.
Wenger, who has the knack of discovering star players at a very young age, is reportedly convinced that the 20-year-old is going to be the next big striker after seeing him do well for Palermo over the last three seasons.
Although the Argentine has not managed to score a lot of goals for the newly promoted Serie A side, the youngster has been showing a lot of promise and commitment.
And due to this reason, Arsenal are not the only side interested in landing the 20-year-old, who is reportedly being targeted by a host of clubs including Southampton.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are also targeting a move for estranged Tottenham Hotspur defender Vlad Chiriches as Wenger also looks to reinforce his backline that has been plagued by injuries this season.
According to the Daily Star, the Gunners have joined the race along with the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus to land the 24-year-old centre-back in January.
Wenger has been forced to assemble a makeshift defence with left-back Nacho Monreal in the centre-back position and the inexperienced Calum Chambers in the right-back position following the injuries of Laurent Koscielny and Mathieu Debuchy.
So the French boss is desperate to sign a new centre-back in January to solve his issues at the back.
Although Wenger was being linked to Manchester United target Mats Hummels and the centre-back is believed to be interested in joining Arsenal, the Gunners are targeting Chiriches as a short- term solution as the German is unlikely to move to the Emirates in January.
Chiriches, who joined the Spurs from Steaua București last season, is reportedly also desperate to make a move out of White Hart Lane as he has fallen out of new boss Mauricio Pochettino's favour, making only three appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season.
