Tum Bin 2 is a sequel to Anubhav Sinha's romantic drama Tum Bin, which was one of the biggest Bollywood hits of 2001. After 15 years, he is coming back with the second instalment in the Tum Bin franchise. Besides direction and scripting, Anubhav Sinha has jointly produced the film with Bhushan Kumar.

Anubhav Sinha has planned to release Tum Bin 2 in theatres around the world on November 18. He is kick-starting its promotion a month ahead of its release.

The filmmaker started watching Haseena Moin's tele-serials in 1984 and met her in 1996 in Mauritius. He says like the prequel, Tum Bin 2 is also inspired from her TV serials.

"Two of my favourite dramas are Ankahi Tanhaiyan and Dhoop Kinare. A lot of the screenplay in Tum Bin has been inspired by her television serials and a few of the critics and industry members who saw the first instalment were quick to notice this similarity," Anubhav Sinha said in a statement.

"The second instalment too is inspired in some way from Pakistani dramas because I feel the way they tell a story is sublime," he added.

His revelation comes at a crucial time when tensions are growing between India and Pakistan over the September 18 terror attack, which killed 19 Indian Army soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir.

Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has become a victim for the growing demand on banning Pakistani artistes from working in India. It should be seen whether Anubhav Sinha's comment would affect the release of his movie Tum Bin 2.

Tum Bin 2, which has been shot in the aesthetic landscapes of Scotland, features Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati in the lead roles. Ankit Tiwari has composed music for the movie, while Ewan Mulligan and Farook Hundekar have handled cinematography and editing, respectively.
