Motorola users will be among the first few OEMs to finally receive Google's latest Android Nougat update before anyone else. The Lenovo-owned company has already confirmed the list of smartphones which will be getting the new software. The smartphones include Moto G4 Plus, Moto X Style, Droid Turbo 2 and Nexus 6.

If you currently own a smartphone which was released in the past year, there is a high possibility that it will be updated to the Android 7.0 Nougat sooner than later. According to Motorola, the update process will begin in Q4 2016.

We have a confirmed list of Moto smartphones eligible for Android 7.0 Nougat. The company's latest smartphones, Moto Z and Moto G4 will be among the first ones to receive the update, but you can also find the other phones that will be updated in the days to come.

In case your smartphone is not listed above, it is possible the handset is not eligible for the latest software update. However, there are a few smartphones which will not be updated beyond Android Marshmallow. They include, Moto G Turbo, Moto G (3rd Gen), Moto Turbo, Moto E 4G (2nd Gen), Moto G (2nd Gen) and Moto X (2nd Gen).

Older Motorola smartphones such as Moto E 3G (2nd Gen), Moto X, Mot G and Moto E will be stuck on Android 5.1 Lollipop. But there are other ways to get Android Nougat, which is through custom ROM installation on rooted phones.
