OnePlus may have just four smartphones till date, but it is already a known company with its devices making good business. The Chinese company not only makes handsets with impressive specifications, but is also prompt in releasing firmware update to its eligible devices. It has now emerged that its devices -- OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 – have been spotted running Android 7.0 Nougat operating system on a benchmarking site.

It was earlier reported that Android 7.0 Nougat update wouldn't come to OnePlus One, but the device has spotted running the OS on GFXBench, according to Indian Express. There is no confirmation if the firmware would come to the handset that is more than two years old, but the sighting on the benchmarking site can be taken as a hint that it may get the update.

However, it appears like Android 7.0 Nougat will not come to OnePlus One for two big reasons. The handset is more than two years old, but Android devices get software update for only two years. Moreover, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, which is powering the OnePlus One, is said to be not compatible with Android 7.0 Nougat's Vulcan API, which means the OS update may not happen.

OnePlus hasn't announced the devices that will receive Android 7.0 Nougat update, but reports have claimed that its devices -- OnePlus 2, OnePlus X and OnePlus 3 – would get the new firmware by the end of this year or early 2017.

Meanwhile, it is reported that OnePlus is also set to release a new device called the OnePlus 3T running Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The device is also expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, and a Sony IMX398 sensor that is seen in the Oppo R9S.
