Cyanogen releases Android 5.1 Lollipop based Cyanogenmod 12.1 Nightly ROMs for numerous smartphonesYouTube

After announcing its strategic partnership with Microsoft, Cyanogen has started rolling out its first edition of CyanogenMod 12.1-based Nightly ROMs for an array of Android devices. The list includes Nexus 6 (aka Motorola Shamu), OnePlus One, HTC One Max, Motorola Droid Razr, Droid Razr HD, Google Nexus 7 2013 (LTE), Nexus 4 (aka mako), and many more.

Though most of the phones in the list have already received official Android 5.1 Lollipop updates, these Nightly builds of CM12.1 ROMs might impress the Cyanogen fans. Apart from the regular CM features, the latest nightly build offers Microsoft services, including Skype, OneDrive, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.

Through this strategic move, a chunk of fans believe Cyanogen has taken the first stride to diminish the reign of Google on the Android dynasty. Social media platforms, including Twitter and Google Plus has been flooded with sceptical remarks from the Cyanogen fans.

The new Nightly ROMs are not be considered as the final edition as the Nightly ROMs are counted as beta version and offers bugs and vulnerabilities which later gets patched in the final release.

The Nightly Build ROMs of CyanogenMod 12.1 will be updated on a day-to-day basis until the final version appears for individual smartphones.
