Akshay Kumar, who is all set to portray the real life character of former Hockey team manager Tapan Das, does not want to see a biopic be made on his life. In fact, he thinks it is foolish to make films on reel heroes instead of real heroes.

Speaking at a promotional event of his upcoming movie Gold, Akshay said that he would be a "fool to make a biopic" on himself.

"I will never make a biopic on myself. Never ever. I will never even write a book on myself. I don't want to. Because there are so many amazing stories in history like a Tapan Das or an Arunachalam Muruganantham, there are so many biopics to be made. There are so many amazing people who have turned India in their own way towards a positive direction. I would be a fool to make a biopic on myself," Akshay said during a media interaction.

"To make a biopic on a reel hero, I will be a fool. I want to make films on real heroes," he added.

Although Akki did not take any specific name, his remark somehow appears to be a jibe at the recently released Sanju, biopic on Sanjay Dutt. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju was a film on the life of controversial star Sanjay.

Akshay saying that he will be a "fool" to make biopic on reel hero may not be accepted well by Sanjay or the makers of Sanju.

Although Sanju became a box office blockbuster, the movie received its fair share of criticisms too. Many felt the movie to be an attempt to clean up the image of Sanjay, who was a drug addict, and was jailed for illegal weapon possession.

Meanwhile, Akshay's next film Gold is based on the real story of Tapan Das and some others, who dreamt of making India win the first ever Hockey gold medal in Olympics after independence. The film is slated to be released on August 15.
