Ajith seems to have been impressed with Vikram Prabhu's look in his upcoming film "Sigaram Thodu."

The actor had called Vikram and complimented for his look. "Always a nice gesture whn Stars in the industry call & compliment on a look for a movie.Thanking #AjithSir for his call for #SigaramThodu," tweeted Vikram Prabhu.

Vikram will be seen in the role of a cop for the first time in "Sigaram Thodu", which will be directed by Gaurav. The film, touted to be an action entertainer, is centered on credit and debit card scam. It also deals with the father-son relationship played by Sathyaraja and Vikram, respectively.

"Sigaram Thodu" will be the actor's fourth film and his second release of the year after "Arima Nambi."

The film's first look posters and the trailer have generated positive buzz about the project. It is expected to take good openings as Vikram's previous releases fared well at the box office.

Monal Gajjar plays the female lead, while Sathish of "Ethir Neechal' fame will provide comic relief. K. S. Ravi Kumar, K. C. Anand and Kovai Sarala are also part of the cast.

The film's music is composed by Imman, while editing is done by Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth.

UTV Motion Pictures has produced the project and it will be the next big release for the production house after "Anjaan", which hit the screens on 15 August.

"Sigaram Thodu" is all set to release on 12 September and it will not be having any big competition at the box office as there are no Tamil biggies releasing on the same day. However, it might face some competition from Kreshna Kulasekaran's "Vanavarayan Vallavarayan."

Interestingly, Monal happens to be the female lead for "Vannavarayan Vallavarayan" as well. Both her films are set to clash at the box office on the same day and it will be interesting to see which one emerges on top.

The Tamil Nadu box office seems to be witnessing low collections with low theatre occupancy as last week's releases have failed to pull in crowds to theatres. The new releases are expected to bring in some decent collections at the box office.
