Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Karan Johar are back on the big screen together after 17 years with "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil."

In an interaction with DNA, the former Miss World revealed why she took so long to work with KJo. Aishwarya was offered "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Dostana", but she rejected the proposals.

On national television, the "Bombay Velvet" villain has said once that Aishwarya was offered "KKHH", and unlike other actors, she called Karan and politely said "no" to the offer.

Both of them have always wanted to work together, but things didn't work accordingly. But this time, Aishwarya, who is making her comeback in films with "Jazbaa", had dates to schedule for her BFF's flick.

"I would have said Yes to Karan all along as well. First of all, the schedules had always been the problem whenever we wanted to do a film. What was special with Ae Dil Hai Mushil was I finally had a schedule to start setting. (Laughs) It is easy for me actually to be able to immediately work it out this time because I was just planning my schedule," Aishwarya told DNA.

However, she also said that "Dostana" too didn't work out and she thus opted out of the film. It was first offered to Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Bachchan but the former too walked out later.

"We kept discussing subjects and we thought we will work on Dostana together. Then I got married. Saif was there in the film initially but after our marriage, he was like, Abhishek and Aishwarya will be together in the film. 'So it won't look right'," said Aishwarya.

"That's how the vibe was becoming around the film, but I was like, the role is of the two guys. Since that was the kind of discussion and feeling going around with the casting, I decided to step out of Dostana and didn't do that as well," she further added.

After "Jazbaa", the actress is going to shoot for KJo's film along with Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
