Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus "Bajirao Mastani" has been in the making for over a decade now, when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan were an item. Unfortunately the filmmaker's dream of roping in the two superstars reportedly fell through after their relationship bit the dust.

However, the film is finally being made with Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. Interestingly, the "Jazbaa" actress has no qualms for not being able to do the project then.

"Even at the start of this movie ('Bajirao Mastani'), there was a certain casting that he was looking for. If that was to come to be... you all know that there was a possibility of me being 'Mastani' if there was a certain Bajirao (referring to Salman) he was trying to cast," she told PTI adding they had talked openly about it after the film didn't work out.

"But if that did not come to be then we had openly talked about it. It is not something to think over... fret over. Every film has its destiny and finds the way it is meant to be," the former beauty queen said further.

Aishwarya also elaborated how her equation with Sanjay goes beyond the work they do adding that there are directors with whom she shares a close bond, away from professional trappings.

The gorgeous lady is all set to make her comeback with Sanjay Gupta's "Jazbaa" and is making sure that all goes well. According to the latest buzz, she will turn producer with this one. Scheduled for a 9 October release, the action-thriller stars Irrfan Khan and Shabana Azmi in key roles.
